Proprietary Hardware and Software
Insol-Node is a proprietary development by Insol Technology LLP: both the hardware and the software platform are designed and manufactured in-house. The entire upper level of the industrial control system (ICS) runs on open-source and free software, free from foreign proprietary licenses. This makes the solution fully compliant with supply chain resilience and technological independence initiatives.
All-in-One Solution
The entire upper level of the ICS is integrated into a single device: the runtime environment, DBMS, OPC UA server, and web-SCADA come pre-installed and interconnected out of the box. This completely eliminates traditional integration costs, bypassing the need for separate SCADA servers, external OPC servers, historians, or databases with individual licenses.
Zero Per-Tag Licensing Fees
The technology stack is built on open-source software (4diac Forte, PostgreSQL, OPC UA, FUXA), meaning there is no "per-tag" pricing, and no licensing fees for client connections or historical data archiving. The number of variables (tags), archives, and active connections is limited solely by the physical resources of the hardware, not by a license key.
Traffic Prioritization and Reliable Control
The switch's feature set enables packet prioritization, ensuring a guaranteed time slot for each connected device. Rigidly fixing the polling priority of field devices maintains the absolute reliability of the core process control algorithm.
PostgreSQL Database
PostgreSQL is a powerful, open-source object-relational database system. It utilizes and extends the SQL language combined with a robust feature set to safely store and scale even the most complex data workloads.
